WEEK COMMENCING 9 March
Desford Village IV v Winstanley Wizards IV -- 3-7. Those lads did it again, only two of them for the Wizards but they won all seven sets played including their 11th win out of 11 in the doubles (for which they received Top Spin's Performance of the Week). Kai and Kalan Bhakta did very well but at least Desford came away with a point which is always useful.
Fleckney III v Nomads IV -- 6-4. An excellent maximum from Tony Burns spearheaded this success for Fleckney, while John Woodward notched two and Mike Miles one. For Nomads Dave Croucher won two, Mick Loach one and these two also took the doubles.
Knighton Park X v Knighton Park XI -- 6-4. Almost a shock for the tenth who found their club mates well up for it with Neal Smith winning two and Dave Cooper scoring a very good victory over Mike Smith, Neal beating the other two. All three of the tenth team scored two: Tony Scarborough, Bill Walmsley and Mike while Neal and Dave pinched the doubles 12-10 in the fifth.
Regent Sports III v Abbots Road IV -- 1-9. Coincidentally both top teams claimed the same score with Abbots Road having Zakaria Yusuf and Sameer Shaikh both undefeated while Kishen Mistry won two with Gary Featherstone just getting home 13-11 in the fifth to prevent a full house.
Knighton Park IX v Fleckney IV -- 9-1. KP remain just one point behind Abbots with the same scoreline when all three players won their singles: Ayman Gabbar, Abe Lam and Fares Gabbar. This time the full house was prevented when John Standish and Jan Nix beat Ayman and Fares in the doubles to get that one needy set.
Winstanley Wizards III v Winstanley Wizards V -- 9-1. Yet another at 9-1 with Khalid Uddin saving the fifth team's blushes when he defeated John Hurst who otherwise win two for the third team. Meantime Ras Kotadia and Nathan Joseph both captured maximums, albeit after some close games.

Week Commencing 2 March
Knighton Park XI v Desford Village IV -- 6-4. Shiftwork and then a last minute illness meant KP only had two players but Neal Smith with all three and Dave Cooper two, and then the doubles gave them full points. Gillian Wisdish beat Dave for Desford and they also had three by default.
Abbots Road IV v Fleckney III -- 8-2. Abbots Road took advantage of a later in the week slip by the top team to go top themselves when Sameer Shaikh and Kishen Mistry both emerged undefeated while Kushal Mehta took one from a disappointed Fleckney team who would have liked at least one point. For Fleckney Tony Burns and Pete Wilson each scored one.
Winstanley Wizards V v Knighton Park X -- 1-9. Matt Weedall gave the Wizards the perfect start when he defeated Mike Smith but it was all KP from then who picked up all the rest. Phil Wood and Tony Scarborough both notched maximums while Mike won his other two. This keeps the KP team firmly in third position.
Winstanley Wizards IV v Knighton Park IX -- 5-5. Terrific tussle with all six players coming away with something. A rare outing for Sigourney Ducksbury who won two but beaten by Roy Smith making his first appearance, and winning just the one for Winstanley, Two also for Paul Ducksbury and one by Abe Lam. For the Wizards Kai Bhakta two, Kalan Bhakta one with the brothers maintaining their unbeaten doubles record in three straight for the share which dropped KP from first to second.
Nomads IV v Winstanley Wizards III -- 3-7. A match winning maximum by Rasool Katadia was supported by two from John Hurst while Pete Mason secured one, Pete and John the doubles. Two for Dave Croucher and a Mick Harvey one gave Nomads a point for their efforts.
