FINAL OFFICIAL WEEK

Final week of the regular season, but we do have a few postponements to catch up on.

 

Mondays mid table clash saw Desford III narrowly overcome KP XIV with Fares Gabbar, playing across, POTM. 

 

On Tuesday WW V beat WW VI 6-4 in their own mid table derby, Peter Moores POTM. KP XIII finished their season with a fine 8-2 win at Nomads III, Ian Prentice reflecting his improvement this season with the  POTM award.

 

The last set of matches saw Champions KP XV overwhelm Regents Sports 9-1, impressive newcomer Aiden Cheng picking up POTM. KP XV ended with 21 wins and only one defeat, a fine performance form this young team. Nomads II also finished strongly and confirmed their runners up spot with 2 games in hand, winning 10-0 at Fleckney. Chris Wilson retaining his position as top of the averages, having only lost two games.

DIVISION FIVE

24 March

The week started with a hard fought 5-5 draw between WW V! and Leicester T&SC with Dave Fowler picking up POTM. Also on Tuesday KP XIII beat WW V, 8-2  cementing their 3rd place in the division and Milan Sodha picking up another POTM award.

 

League leaders KP XV conformed their status as Divisional Champions with a comprehensive 9-1 win away at Fleckney, one match being conceded due to a player having to leave early.

 

In Thursdays mid table clash Regents II narrowly beat Desford 6-4, POTM Will Clark again proving the difference. Finally this week, another close match between KP XIV and Nomads III, drawing 5-5.

15 March

The first of Tuesdays two matches saw Desford III win comprehensively away beating Nomads III, 9-1. Gordon Bacon POTM. Elsewhere, WW V had a surprisingly  narrow 6-4 win over KP XIV, given their respective league positions. This match featured a number of tight games with Peter Moores a worthy POTM.

 

Wednesdays only game was at Fleckney, where the home team narrowly lost to Regents Sports. Will Clark POTM improving his average to near 85% and Naresh Shah for the home team picking up his 3rd and 4th wins of the season.

 

The final group of matches, the divisions  most improved team Leicester T&SC narrowly lost at home to KP XIII, whilst leaders KP V had another comprehensive 10-0 win over Syston V, with Aiden Chang achieving POTM in only his second match. Finally, Nomads II cemented their 2nd place position with a 9-1 win over WW VI, Terry Wale POTM.

Fleckney                                 Directions       

 

Rather than turn left at Horse and Trumpet (there is a bridge closure between Wigston and Wistow), continue along A5199 (old A50) to Arnesby.

Take left turn signposted Fleckney (Fleckney Lane) and, bearing left onto Arnesby Road, continue into Fleckney Village.

Turn left at t-junction onto High Street.

Turn right at mini-roundabout onto Leicester Road.

Venue is on right through gates immediately before Bramley Close.
