ROUND ONE REPORT
I was really pleased at the reaction to this experiment of having all the matches on one evening at one venue, and I thank Knighton Park very much indeed for agreeing to give it a go.
I am pleased for two main reasons -- it doubled the entry from 6 last season to 12 this. And, even more so, I lost count of the number of players who came to me to say how much they enjoyed it and what a terrific atmosphere had been created, yet the sense of fun was still very much apparent.
The results are to the left with everything other than the actual game scores which sometimes tend to get a bit messy on the scoresheets. However, this season I was pleased to see that every result was correct.
PAR SCORES
Each player played against four others and, due to their handicap numbers, would expect to perform with an overall score that would match those handicaps taking the handicaps into account. A plus score above par would indicate an above par performance, the higher being the better result. A par score would be 0.
I have indicated against each team that team's best performance against par. Below are the top 10 across the six teams.
+26 Simon Aldis (Knight on the Town)
+22 Dave Silvester (Bright Sparks)
+18 Andy Wright (Electric City)
+18 Andy Searle (KP4).
+16 Geoff Hancock (Abbots All Stars).
+16 John Underwood (KP4).
+15 Eiz Eddin Al Katrib (Abbots All Stars)
+14 Steve Harrison (Goons).
+14 Dave Mountain (KP's Biggest Hits)
+13 Barry Robinson (Goons).

34-84 Ian Prentice (58)
84-46 Bradley Lapworth (45)
84-50 Kishen Mistry (47)
84-24 Geoff Hancock (32) par +16
84-46 Eiz Eddin Al Katrib (45)
21-84 Phil Wood (47)
34-84 Mike Smith (49)

ROUND TWO REPORT
Once again a very good atmosphere was generated with the three winners and best loser scheduled to go through to the semi finals. In the event there were two winners while the other match finished as a draw which made the best loser superfluous.
The Goons v Abbots All Stars match is what this event is all about. Having worked out their handicaps the two teams found they matched with no-one receiving a start. After a very competitive tussle they finished up as a draw and you can't get anything closer than that.
The other two matches were both won by over 40 points, one where a team overhauled a start they had to give away while the other maintained enough of a lead to stave off their opponents catching up.
79-59 Amardeep Gudela (33)
81-59 Simon Aldis (40) par +26
65-79 Martin Pember (44).
73-79 Abe Lam (48).
