When Stan Dunne dropped a game to Cliff Smith it meant that his match against Dave Mountain would settle the leader at the half way point, Stan winning 3-0. Elly Bajarias made significant progress into third with a 7 point return.

With leader, Dave Mountain, unable to play Stan Dunne took full advantage to win all four matches 3-0 to gain 8 points which took him to the top of the chart by one point

Dave Mountain continues to impose a decent lead after securing seven points in the second month but two making their debuts look as though they might challenge in future. Darren Bramhall and Stan Dunne were both playing for the first time and both scored perfect eights having dodged the leader as they started from the middle of the chart.
We now have an absolute ceiling of 21 names as, of course, only ten matches can be catered for at any one time, but it is the longest list since the competition began, mainly thanks to the new organiser, Penny Eames.
