County Junior Weekend

from Shirley Pickering -

Leicestershire hosted the County Junior weekend with 7 other Counties visiting.

Durham, Lancashire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Warwickshire all made the trip to us.

Every team had 7 matches to get through, starting at just after 9 on the Saturday to finishing at 4pm on the Sunday, so a full on long weekend.

Leicestershire were newly promoted from last season to division1.

With a couple of changes to the players (from last season) through age, our team were Kai Bhakta, Khaalid Patel, Dillon Kearney, Niam Kotecha (debut), Catherine Lv, Maisey Phillips and Alice Fairclough (Debut) were the team.

The standard of play throughout was exceptional, as you would expect for Div 1.

Leicestershire won 1, drew 2 and took points from their other 4 matches.

Player of the weekend for Leicestershire was Catherine Lv winning all of her matches 100%
